Province Of Thieves returned to recording engineer Boo English and his Knothole Recording Studio in Waxhaw, NC to begin work on what would become their first seasonal recording project in January of 2025. The resulting Christmas album will release in mid-October (specific date to be announced).
Fans will note that the Thieves live version of "Go Tell It On the Mountain," twice performed at the Tosco Music Holiday Parties (and available for viewing on YouTube), has now received studio recording treatment and WILL appear on the album.
"At Christmas Time" features seven tracks, five of which are Thieves originals including the title track (though some songs borrow from older Christmas music themes and poems), and two cover songs (remakes); Go Tell It, and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, both of which are done in unique Thieves style.
Like most POT albums, this one features special guest musicians, including Glen Alexander on fiddle and Sharon Fogarty on flutes/whistles.
